£69,920 raised for construction charity at the Lighthouse Club South East Annual Dinner on Friday 5th May 2017
22nd May 2017
A fantastic time had by all as we raised an outstanding £69,920 at the Lighthouse Club South East Annual Dinner on Friday 5th May 2017 at the Ashford International Hotel.
We welcomed 300 incredibly generous people on the night who came to show their support for the charity that has helped so many local people.
Construction companies in the South East, including Gallagher Group, Coinford, O’Keefe’s and Ardula, were well represented among the guests. It was great to see so many new faces this year as more companies than ever came along to say a big thank you for all that the Lighthouse Club has done for the industry.
With so many potentially big changes on the horizon for the industry it was a great opportunity for everyone to get together and talk about the future as well as celebrating recent success.
“We had the most successful South East Branch dinner ever with 300 people packed into the venue. Many new faces were present as well as regular stalwart supporters and I can't thank them enough for their generosity. As ever, Adger Brown performed brilliantly as compere for the evening and kept his audience fully engaged in a very entertaining live auction. Can we do even better next year? We'll certainly give it our best shot!”
Martin Dace, South East Chairman
Adger Brown was a fantastic compere for the evening, making sure everything ran seamlessly. Cormac MacCrann, Managing Director of Canary Wharf Contractors and Chairman of the Lighthouse Club, gave the keynote speech. Entertainment on the floor was provided by the amazing antics of Acro-Chaps and the talents of the Caricaturist who captured the likenesses of the guests.
Money was raised on the night through:
• Heads and Tails. With a prize of an iPad and £100 donated by Tarmac. The winner kindly donated the cash back to the charity.
• A raffle with prizes of £500, £250, and £100 donated by RIFT, a tablet donated by Brett Concrete and an iPod Touch by Tarmac.
• The Live Auction raised an incredible £39k on the night with the lots having been kindly donated by guests including: Take That tickets, Chelsea Tickets, Royal Ascot Private Box, Game Shooting, Signed Thierry Henry Sign and England v Ireland Rugby tickets.
A massive thank you to all those who attended or donated prizes for the night.
